Spasmodic croup
(Med.) , an affection of childhood characterized by a stoppage of brathing developed suddenly and without fever, and produced by spasmodic contraction of the vocal cords. It is sometimes fatal. Called alsolaryngismus stridulus , andchildcrowing .
